Sliema v Mosta Preview

Sliema Wanderers come up against an inform Mosta team who since the start of the New Year have been in terrific form at the Victor Tedesco stadium @ 2pm on Saturday.

The Blues will have to do without 3 suspended players for this match as Beppe Muscat, Rumen Galabov and Ryan Fenech who are all serving a 1 match suspension.

This again has given Sliema coach Danilo Doncic some headaches when coming to team selection. Having already secured a place in the Championship Pool with 1 game to spare, the Blues will be looking to go out and win this match and start pushing for that all important European Place towards the end of the season.

Andrew Decesare is still sidelined with a knee injury, and Alex Muscat also has a knock from his mid week international appearance for the national team and is rated as doubtful. Cleavon Frendo also seems to have recovered from a knock he obtained and Mark Scerri is still doubtful for this match following a hamstring injury. Mark Scerri also sat out that midweek international u21 match in which Malta hosted Hungary and lost 3-1.

Henry Bonello returns to the Blues camp high on confidence after his international duty  and Josef Mifsud will be expected to form a partnership with Clifford GattBaldacchino at the heart of central defence. DaniMitev, Lattes, Cilia will all be looking to provide the Blues with some attacking options up front.Mosta will have two important players missing as two of their foreigners will be missing.

The Blues will also look to avenge the first round score when Sliema went down by 3 goals to 2.
