Sliema Wanderers will be playing against Balzan in their next Championship Pool encounter which will take place on Monday at 4:15pm at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun.
The Blues will be without Ryan Grech who is suspended for this game and also Andrew Decesare who has been out with a knee injury. However, it seems as Andrew Decesare is nearing full fitness and can make the squad within the next couple of weeks as he returns to full training.
Sliema’s vice captain Mark Scerri is still doubtful as is Trevor Cilia with both players suffering tight hamstrings.
Sliema still haven’t beaten Balzan this season when in the previous encounters they finished in a 1-1 draw and a 2-1 defeat. Balzan are coming from a demoralizing 7-2 defeat against Valletta and the Blues will seek to capitalize on this. Despite losing 2-1 against Hibs at the beginning of the week, Sliema still gave a good performance and account of themselves. They dominated for long stretches of the game.
Danilo Doncic still has another headache in the form of which 4 foreigners to field from the 6 available. Nothing less than a victory will satisfy coach Danillo Doncic and the Sliema clan.
